ABOUT WSR
Passion, Power, Experience
Founded by New Zealander Dick Bennetts in 1981, West Surrey Racing (WSR) are one of Europe’s most successful racing teams, having tasted success with World Champion drivers such as Ayrton Senna, Mika Hakkinen, Tom Kristensen, Nigel Mansell, Allan McNish and Andy Priaulx.
After becoming the most successful team in the British Formula 3 Championship during the 1980s, WSR moved into the British Touring Car Championship and have continued their extraordinary run of success. As well as running race-winning factory BTCC programmes for Ford, Honda, MG and BMW, WSR have taken 16 outright championship titles – including a record-breaking seven Manufacturers’ titles in a row for BMW from 2016 onwards -, nine independents’ crowns and over 100 race victories.
They are also race winners in the FIA World Touring Car Championship. Based in Sunbury-on-Thames, Surrey, WSR currently run Team BMW and Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport in the BTCC.

Colin Turkington
Colin Turkington is WSR’s longest-serving driver, making his BTCC debut with the team in 2002 and winning every one of his record-equalling four overall titles – plus four Independents’ crowns – with their BMWs. Since his return to the Sunbury-on-Thames team in 2017, he has taken the title fight to the final round of the season every year. He’s back for a crack at a fifth crown as he seeks to re-write history.
Jake Hill
The Kent racer began 2022 as the most intriguing prospects of the BTCC season as he joined WSR and ended it as its major revelation thanks to three wins, two pole positions and more podium finishes (13) than any other driver as he took the title fight down to the final day of the season. Third in the points will, he hopes, prove a springboard to even greater success this year in the Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport BMW.
Adam Morgan
The newest member of the WSR line-up; Adam Morgan is no stranger to success in the BTCC. With 11 race wins and nearly 40 podiums, the former Ginetta G50 Cup champion is one of the most-popular drivers in the series. Having scored his three most recent wins in WSR-built BMWs (as well as finishing second in last year’s Independents’ points), he moves to the team for the first time and is intent on adding more silverware.
