Jake Hill
2024 BTCC Champion
The 2024 season was an incredible one for Jake Hill he became British Touring Car Champion in his third year with WSR and his second with the Laser Tools Racing with MB Motorsport BMW.
Now, carrying #1 on his BMW 330i M Sport into 2025, the Kent ace aims to go back-to-back.
Jake was just 15 when he debuted in Ginetta Juniors in 2009 and his total of 13 wins, spread over two campaigns (including the series runner-up spot in ’10) remains a series record.
Race wins in the Ginetta GT4 Supercup and podiums in both the Carrera Cup GB and British GT proved a springboard to the BTCC in full-time in 2016, following a handful of appearances three years earlier.
Jake’s race results improved year-on-year and culminated in a breakthrough first series win at Knockhill in 2019; around the same time he began racing historic touring cars and sportscars with huge success.
Seventh in the 2020 points and fifth in 2021 established him as the ‘coming man’ of the BTCC, but the best was yet to come.
Linking up with WSR under the MB Motorsport banner, Jake caused a sensation on his team debut at Donington Park by scoring pole position and a race win in the East Midlands in 2022.
It was a year that featured 13 podiums – more than any other driver – the Goodyear Wingfoot Award as the year’s best qualifier and a career-best third in the points. Another third-place finish (this time with six wins) in 2023 merely cemented his status as one of the BTCC’s brightest stars, but it was in 2024 when the stars fully aligned.
Eight wins, 16 podiums and 28 top-10 finishes from 30 races culminated in title success sealed with a second-place finish at the season finale.
