The newest member of the WSR line-up, Lancashire racer Adam Morgan joins the team for the 2023 British Touring Car Championship after spending the past two seasons successfully racing a customer version of the BMW 3 Series.

His inclusion alongside Colin Turkington, Stephen Jelley and Jake Hill increases WSR’s line-up of BMW 330e M Sports to four – the team’s largest number of entered cars for 21 years.

The son of respected UK rally driver Russell Morgan, Adam came to prominence in the BTCC-supporting Ginetta G50 Cup, becoming a race winner in 2010 and champion the following season.

That netted him a prize drive in the BTCC and began an unbroken stint in the series in which he has become regarded as one of the fastest drivers on the grid and a regular race winner.

That first victory came at Brands Hatch in 2014 for his family-run Ciceley Motorsport team, almost exactly a year after he’d made it onto the podium for the first time at Oulton Park.

His first pole position followed in 2018 at Rockingham as his giant-killing abilities gained him more and more fans in the paddock and on the spectator banking.

That year was his most successful to date as he won three times (including that weekend at Rockingham) and scored six podiums on his way to eighth in the points – and secured a class win at the Dubai 24 Hours.

Since switching to BMW power – initially with the WSR-built 330i M Sport in 2021 and later with the hybrid-enabled 330e M Sport – he has won three times and was runner-up in last year’s Independents’ Championship.

His knowledge of the BMW will be a key asset as he joins WSR for 2023.
