WSR FlexiFly ended their maiden season in the British GT Championship with a top-six result in the GT4 Pro-Am category at Brands Hatch on Sunday.
Drivers Ernie Graham and Colin Turkington, who have finished on the podium twice in 2026, fought hard and showed strong pace during the second half of the race, but were unable to recover the time lost in a delayed pitstop.
First-year GT racer Ernie showed solid speed aboard the BMW M4 GT4 Evo during Saturday practice and pre-qualifying, the Northern Irishman’s hopes of doing well not helped by the lack of a pre-event test day.
Despite this, he and countryman Colin, who collected all four of his British Touring Car Championships at the Kent circuit, combined well to qualify third on the Pro-Am grid.
Ernie lost several places at the start and spent the majority of an error-free stint inside the top six; a position Colin maintained to the finish.
A minor time loss at the mandatory driver change cost the #61 BMW a position, but Colin was responsive to the task at hand and spent the rest of the race steadily climbing up in the top five.
The series returns for its 2027 edition at Snetterton, Norfolk, on April 10-11.
Ernie Graham: “I can’t believe we’ve finished the season already. It was a pretty uneventful race. I was very pleased with my qualifying speed, but for reasons I don’t understand, I just couldn’t get the pace out of the BMW in the race and I slipped back a bit during my stint. I had a bit of a dice with one of our friendly Aston Martin drivers. We had a little issue in the pitstop, but Colin’s speed was excellent.”
Colin Turkington: “We didn’t finish how we wanted today. The pace of the car was really good, but we lost a little time in the pitstop, which put us on the back foot, but the pace of the BMW was really strong. We’ve got to the end of the season, everybody’s happy and we’ll see if we can go again in 2027 and go even faster.”
Carl Mitchell, Sporting & Operations Director: “We’ve reached the end of our first season in GT racing – and of a project that only really began in February/March time. We were on the podium in our first race, have introduced a rally driver to high-level circuit racing and learned plenty at every race and test. Well done everyone.”
