Lewis Gilbert
Lewis Gilbert is the latest name to join WSR and makes his British Touring Car Championship at Thruxton as the series resumes after the summer break.
Hailing from Dalry, North Ayrshire, the 22-year-old Scot only made his car-racing debut at the start of 2026 in the GB3 Series partnered by the BRDC – a series created by WSR’s very first winner and champion, Jonathan Palmer.
While he may be a relative newcomer to cars, he has achieved huge success in karting over a 10-year career. After winning the IAME Euro Series X30 Junior title and the Kartmasters British Grand Prix crown in Rotax Junior, his career continued to build.
More recently he was runner-up in the Senior Max class in the RMC Grand Finals in 2022 and ‘24, the International Trophy in ‘22, and the BNL Kart Series in ’23.
